Crazy Sunday Phone Call

March 18, Sunday, post-West Fun Day lunch at the Galeria. I got a message on Twitter that got me going crazy. Nick, using his iPhone, video captured the entire 30-sec of the phone call. Here are some stills from that video. Audio not for web posting. :D

When the theme song to a childhood game is performed by the London Philharmonic Ochestra, you know you’re all growns up and all growns up and all growns up.  I actually quite like this.

Danny and Reden, listen to this.

It’s on my Twitter and Facebook. It should also be on Tumblr. This is David Harris, Wicked Singapore’s Fiyero :)

The Black Keys - LONELY BOY, what can I say?  The Black Keys just get more and more boss, and yeah, boss is the word to describe them.

Long Shot: Meeting Jason Godfrey.

**This blog is more for me than my 10 Tumblr followers. LOL!

It’s not every day that you ask a celebrity for a photo, and he agrees to meet up with you to have it taken. Well, it happened to me.

I first knew of Jason in an ANTM TV plug on Star World. Being the ultimate fan girl that I am, I asked one of my friends (Pao Jimeno) to look him up: what’s his name, where he’s from, and all that. And Pao, being our ultimate researcher, found his name.

Google. Yes. He’s there.

Twitter. Yes. @bigsmilenoteeth

Tumblr. Oh yes. I knew a lot about him in there.

No Facebook. Everyone checks there, right?

One day in May (while I was nursing a severe tooth extraction), Jason tweeted that he finally gave in to the Zuck.

Clicked “Like”. I was number 5.

That day on Facebook, all posts on his wall he replied to. I was like„, okay, this Godfrey guy is really nice. Almost too nice to be real. I became doubtful for a while until he posted a real-time photo of him about what he looks like when he eats something spicy.  So it really is him.

From that day on, I became a regular “post-er” and “comment-er” on his page. I even got him to follow me on Twitter! He was my 100th follower. Haha

Then October came. On our friend’s Alex’s wedding day, while having my make-up done, Jason posted on his page that he’ll be heading to Manila that same day. Thanks to Pao again, I found out right away.  OMGodfrey this is it. I knew it was a long shot, but I sent him a personal message on Twitter, without really expecting him to reply. BUT HE DID.

A few days leading to our meeting, we were in touch through DM’s on Twitter. And no, Jason, I didn’t wait for you for 4 hours in Greenbelt!

I was actually resigned to not meeting him as I was set to leave for Boracay in a couple more days. (ako pa talaga busy??) And the fact that he was replying to my messages was good enough for me.

Finally the message came. I was giddy; I didn’t know what to say. I actually floated at work that day.

Is this really happening?

I’m not sure if he remembered that I told him before that I work nights, but he asked to meet up in the morning„, very convenient for me. I’ll just go after work, I thought to myself.

We agreed to meet up somewhere in Makati, at a Wendy’s right in front of his hotel actually.

I asked friends to come with me, for the sole purpose that when Jason is in front of me and I’d become too dumbfounded to speak, that they’ll be the ones to talk to him, which is exactly what happened.

From the moment I saw him walking towards Wendy’s, to the moment I introduced myself to him, is all I can remember.

He smelled so good!

Everything was a blur after that.

I think he asked what we do. I was able to answer that. Yes, I think I did.

I know he told us about how he was mistaken for Oli Pettigrew the day before. How that girl thinks he had a British accent.

Wee took the photo. I was smiling from ear to ear, him looking just his gorgeous self.

After that he wanted Frosty, even asked “Is this enough for a Frosty?” while showing us a hundred peso bill. We talked a couple more minutes about his Facebook, specifically about the Pakistani teenagers who are frequenting the page. And what he was going to wear for that day in the shoot, which he’s been wearing for the past three days.

And just like that… he was gone.

Thank you, Jason, for going the extra mile.
